Kuje council presents N7bn budget for 2020

The chairman of Kuje area council, Abdulahi Sabo, has presented a budget N7, 146, 505, 000 for the 2020 fiscal year while the actual net income   would be N,3 983, 255, 581, i.e after deductions for L.E.A, Pension/Training fund and 10% pension contribution. 

Speaking while presenting the budget to the speaker, Kuje legislative arm, the chairman said, the budget is an estimation of revenue and expenses over a specified period of time compiled and evaluated on periodic basis.

He said the budget which is legal and binding document that  gives meaningful direction to the entire financial activities vis-a-vis the developmental objective and goals and government.

He noted that on assumption of office last year, he inherited a budget that was implemented half way into the year. His study of the budget and briefing by the relevant departments revealed a frightening and worrisome situation.

He stated that his mandate to deliver the much expected dividends of democracy to the electorate is seriously threatened by the gloomy financial profile.
