Kuje FRSC flags off 2017 ember months campaign

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kuje unit command, has flagged off this year’s ember months’ campaign, describing it as “a period of joyful celebration and not crazy displays on the highways.”
The Kuje unit commander in-charge, Assistant Corps Commander (ACC), Solomon Igbogbo, stated this while flagging off the campaign in Kuje at the weekend, called on motorists, “especially those who are planning to travel to ensure that their vehicles are mechanically fix before embarking on their journey.”
Igbogbo also advised them not to see traffic rules as an offence, but an avenue that would help in preventing road accidents on the high way.
On his part, Head of Operations (HOO) in-charge of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Sector Command, Deputy Corps Commander, Ochi Oga, called on all motorists to support the Corps officials to ensure sanity on all routes within the capital.
He said the significance of the campaign was to remind those who would be intending to travel within the period on how to support in enhancing safety.
Oga, who represented the FCT sector commander, Ayuba Wobin, said the situation being experienced on highways during the festive period called for synergy among all the stakeholders.
He called on motorists to cooperate with the Corps officials by obeying road signs and avoiding driving under the effluence of alcohol during the period.
The event which commenced with road show through major routes within Kuje town was witnessed by security agencies, officials of the National Union Road Transport Workers (NURTW), FRSC Special Marshals, among others.
