Kuje information officer emerges NULGE chair, promises staff welfare

Head of information, Kuje area council, Mr. Nimrod Vinatnayi Koce, has been elected chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Kuje branch, Abuja FCT.

Speaking to Blueprint immediately after he was elected at the Kuje legislative chamber where the election was held, Nimrod Koce said his tenure would spring into action to draw up the plan of activities bordering on staff welfare for the year 2020, and also re- strategise on the best labour practices to engage the management in, for pending arrears and working conditions for the staff.

The new NULGE chairman said the task ahead of the elected officials was enormous but with the members’ support, and objective criticism, challenges would be surmounted.

He appreciated the efforts of his predecessor, Comrade Ibrahim Kabi, for laying a solid foundation through doggedness and resilience in the struggle for collective rights and privileges.

He stressed that as members of the union, what they needed is the application of collective bargain as mechanism to get what truly belongs to them.

He urged members to always be patient whenever they have grievances and appealed to them to feel free to approach any official as the union office for mediation.

Other members of NULGE executive elected include; Comrade Bala Dauda Dagbo, vice chairman; Mohammed Ibrahim, secretary; Safiyanu H. Kuje, treasurer; Joy Agbem, Trustee; Gimba Mohammed Edo , assistant secretary; and Alkali M. John, auditor.
