Kuje kidnapping: Police hunt suspects, nab 2, recover arms

The FCT Police Command has launched an operation to rescue victims kidnapped in the early hours of Thursday in Abaji, a suburb of the FCT.

A press statement by Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Anjugiri Manzah, Thursday in Abuja said: “The Command wishes to assure FCT residents of its commitment to rescue the victims unhurt and arrest the suspects.”

He said in a related development, a detachment of police operatives from the command’s Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad on another operation, Thursday, at about 14:00hrs arrested two suspected kidnappers at Tungan Maje Forest in Gwagwalada Area Council.

“The suspects, Abdullahi Mohammed, 29;  and Adamu Musa, 26; were arrested in possession of one fabricated revolver pistol with the capacity to discharge AK47 ammunition, one Dane gun, eight rounds of 7.62mm live ammunitions and one Itel phone, which have been recovered as exhibits,” 

He said an investigation was on-going.
