The chairman of Mzough U Tiv community in Kuje area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Hon. Emmanuel Hua JP, has bagged an award of leadership excellence by the mother community, Mzough U Tiv FCT Abuja.
Receiving the award, Hon Hua said his administration encouraged everybody to see Tiv community as their home, stressing that human beings by their nature need to be spurred towards working selflessly, pointing out that in every traditional society, acts of encouragement are stools for bringing out the best in individuals. He thanked the Tiv community Kuje, and especially the FCT chapter for such a bold step.
The president charged the Tiv nation as a whole to discover who they are, and seek God for salvation in all their endeavours, noting that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
Hon Hua also said one of the big challenges the community is funding of development activities and appealed to well meaning individuals to give their widow’s mite in support of the Tiv community’s course financial support.
Speaking on behalf Mzough U Tiv FCT, Hon. Peter Vaa Nyam said the award is in recognition of the contributions and development of Tiv community in Kuje by its president Hon Emmanuel Hua.
The Ter Tiv Kuje, Chief Adzenda Beach, while presenting the award, tasked the Tiv community to work as a team, saying they cannot work together without cooperation.
