Kwali SDP constitutes steering c’ttee for 2019 elections

Chairman of the Social democratic Party (SDP) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dennis Etim, has disclosed that the party had re-positioned to defeat other political parties in next year’s general elections in the Territory.
He stated this on Tuesday when members of the party held a stakeholders’ meeting in Kwali area council, noting that his leadership had constituted a steering committee with a view to enhancing activities of the party. Etim charged executives of the party to mobilise membership across the 62 political wards in the Territory, adding that the SDP “remains the only party that can meet the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians, if given the mandate.
” The party chairman cautioned staff of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) on bending electoral rules to favour a political party, just as he encouraged them to stick to electoral guidelines to guarantee the success of the 2019 general elections. Contributing, the Kwali party chairman, Udekwe Simon, said the executive of the party had been working tirelessly to carry the SDP flag to all nooks and crannies of the Council.
Simon reiterated the party’s commitment to accelerate the movement for new political order with a desire to form a formidable party that would take over the seat of Kwali area council chairman from the All Progressives Congress (APC). Also contributing, a chieftain of the party in the area, Emeka Enwelum, while assessing the growth of SDP in Kwali charged residents to key into the ideology of SDP which focused on “good governance and protection of lives and property of the citizens.” Enwelum, who was the former chairman of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Kwali chapter, said he would stage advocacy campaign to schools, markets, mosques and churches to mobiles residents of Kwali and environs to obtain their PVCs.
