Kwankwaso, Garba top Ganduje’s commissioner-nominees’ list

After a period of anxiety, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano has  finally submitted names of  commissioner-nominees to the state House of Assembly for the screening likely to commence Tuesday.

The list obtained by Blueprint Monday, showed that the former commissioner  for information,  Comrade Mohammed Garba; that of local government and chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo; and rural and community development, Alhaji Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso.

Our correspondent also reports that only  8 out of the 21 persons who had served in the last cabinet were retained, buttressing the fact that  the inclusion of new faces in the new cabinet  would serve as tonic to  the governor’s resolve to inject  new blood  into the decision-making machinery of the government.The names of Comrade Mohammed Garba, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo and Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso did not however come to many in the state as surprise, considering their stellar performance in the defunct cabinet in addition to the spectacular role they played in projecting the image for the state government.

Comrade Garba was also widely believed to have effectively oiled the information machinery of the Ganduje administration to the satisfaction of relevant stakeholders in both the media and political circles, using his professional acumen in lifting the profile of the administration.
