Kwara gets another JAMB zonal office

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has created another zonal office in Kwara state.

JAMB’s registral, Prof Is- haq Oloyede, disclosed this on Monday during an inspection visit to the agency’s office in Ilorin, the state capital.

“Kwara used to be part of Abuja zonal office, but Ilorin is far away from Abuja. And we cannot take Kwara to Ibadan as close as the place is to Ilorin so as not to create a political problem.

“We have therefore decided to let Kwara stands on its own as a zonal office just like we have in Kaduna and Lagos States. This is being done for the conveniences of applicants across the country,” Oloyede said.

He said work will resume at the site of Kwara zonal office as soon as the 2023 budget is approved, adding that, “we have made provision for the construction of the zonal office in the 2023 budget. The money is ready.”

Oloyede thanked Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for approving the land on which the zonal office will be built for the agency.

Earlier, theJAMB registrar had paid unscheduled visits to some computer- based test (CBT) centres in Ilorin to ascertain their level of compliance with the agency’s regulations for registration of students for University and Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
