Kwara gov mourns Moonlight’s editor Saliu

The Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commiserated with the family and the media fraternity on the death of the publisher of Real News, an online platform, and editor of Moonlight Newspaper, Mallam Issa Saliu.

Mallam Issa died Monday and has been buried according to Islamic rites.

The governor in a statement by his chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye , described his death as a painful loss to all.

“I send our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the media community, especially the state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, National League of Veteran Journalists, and the Moonlight newspaper. We take solace in the fact that he made his mark as a journalist who contributed his bit to the advancement of free press and democratic development,” the governor said in a statement.

“I pray to Almighty God to forgive his shortcomings, admit him Aljanat Firdaus, and comfort all those he left behind, including his dear wife and children.”
