Kwara: I’ll do more for workers, AbdulRazaq assures NLC leaders 

The governor of Kwara state, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has assured the newly elected leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), under the chairmanship of Comrade Muritala Saheed Olayinka, that his government would do more to improve the welfare of workers upon his re-election on Saturday. 

The governor in a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye Wednesday also congratulated the NLC, its new chairman and other members of the newly constituted state administrative council on the success of its13th quadrennial delegates conference in Ilorin and the emergence of its new leadership in Kwara state. 

“The governor is truly excited at the fine quality of the new leadership that he trusts will build on the constructive engagement, collective bargaining principles, and industrial harmony with the government as espoused by the outgone leadership.

“He looks forward to working with the new leadership of the NLC and the labour movement as a whole in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and commitment to public good,” he said.

The governor urged the new leadership to work with his administration to continuously improve workers’ welfare on a sustainable basis as has been the case over the past three years.
