Kwara, Kano, Oyo get lion shares as Buhari appoints Sunday Dare, 40 other ambassadors

Kwara, Oyo and Kano states have three nominees each in the 41 names forwarded to the Senate for confirmation by President Muhamnadu Buhari as non-career and career ambassadors .
Also in the list read on the floor of the Senate Wednesday, by the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, Adamawa , Benue  and Borno states have two slots each while the remaining 26 nominees, include one appointee from each of the affected states, excluding Abia, Ekiti, Niger and Kebbi  states from the list. 


The Federal Capital Territory ( FCT) has an ambassador-designate.
The three nominees for Kwara state as non – career ambassadors are Abioye Bello, Ibrahim Kayode Laaro and Zara Maazu Umar . 
From Oyo state are outgoing Editor – in – Chief of the Guardian Newspapers , Debo Adesina, Adeshina Alege and Ms Folakemi Akinyele while those from Kano state are Hamisu Takalmawa, Jazuli Galandaci and Amina Ado Kurawa.
The two nominees from Adamawa, Benue and Borno States are, Umar Suleiman L. S Mandama, Hon Tarzoor Terhemen, Paul Oga Adikwu, Albashir Alhassan and Major – Gen (rtd) Bwala Bukar respectively.


Others are former Minister of state for Defence , Ademola Seriki ( Lagos ), former deputy editor This day, Oma Djebah (Delta State), Oboro Akpabio  Akwa Ibom State), Elejah Onyeagba (Anambra), Abubakar Ibrahim  Siyi (Bauchi) and Philip Ikurusi (Bayelsa).


Also on the list are Monique Ekpong, (Cross River), Ominyi Eze (Ebonyi), Yamah Musa ( Edo), C. O Ugwu, (Enugu ), Hajara Salim( Gombe), Obiezu Chinyerem( Imo), Ali Magashi, (Jigawa) and Professor M. A Markarfi ( Kaduna).
Others are Yahaya Lawal (  Katsina), Dare Sunday Awoniyi (Kogi), Henry Omaku (Nasarawa ), Sarafa Isola (Ogun),  Mrs Nimi Akinkube ( Ondo),  Adejaba Bello (Osun) , Shehu Yibaikwal( Plateau), Maureen Tamuno ( Rivers) , Faruk Yabo (  Sokoto) , Adamu Hassan (Taraba),  Yusuf Mohammed (Yobe) and Abubakar Moriki (Zamfara).


Meanwhile , the Senate will on resumption for plenary next week Tuesday, July 7, 2020, forward the request to its Committee on Foreign Affairs for required consideration at that level.
