Kwara: Renewed hostilities in Aradun over demolition of ancient arch

Tension is again brewing in Aradun, a community in Irepodun local government area of Kwara state, following the demolition of the ancient arch erected in honour of the progenitor, founder and the first king of the town, Oba Ibuoye.

The community  has been experiencing crisis leading to accusations and counter accusations, including alleged threat to life, thereby calling on the attention of members of the neighbourhood, the government and the security agencies.

Police First Information Report made available to this medium, had revealed that one Olaitan Abidoye carried out the demolition on the directive of the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Ibukunle Olapade, whose father was the second in command to Oba Ibuoye when he was king.

However, renewed hostilities amongst warring  parties in the community  had again sparked- off tension in recent times  with concerned members of Oba Ibuoye family, crying out for help alleging that their lives are in danger.

A voice note has also surfaced revealing how one of the key figures from the concerned parties in the matter, Gbenga Awoyale Odidere, was weighing words with another  prominent figure in Ibuoye family, Alhaji Ibrahim Gbenga Ibuoye, and how he vowed to ensure he withdraws the security escort from him.
