Kwara varsity graduates have no business searching for jobs –VC

Vice-Chancellor, Kwara State University (KWASU),Malete, Prof. Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, has said that the institution had registered over 3,000 companies to provide job opportunities for it graduates while in school and after completion of their programmes.
He said this even as the university graduates it second set of 349 students on Saturday, June 7.
Addressing journalists during the university’s pre-convocation press briefing at the institution, Na’Allah said the institution this year produced two graduates with first class Degrees, 86 with second class upper, 193 with second class lower and 68 with third class.
“None of our students who graduated from this institution has business roaming the streets for jobs because they have been equipped with every

opportunity to hit the ground running.”
He said institution had introduced the students to various vocations and businesses right from when they were undergraduates “so that by the time they completed their programmes they already have a readymade job to be self-reliant.”
He said every undergraduate regardless of their course of studies were made to undergo compulsory Agriculture programme called “farm to wealth” as one of the ways to ensure that they tap the job potentials in agriculture.

He said the university had also entered intwo collaboration with another institution in South Africa to make Kwara state one of the tourist states in the country.
The vice-chancellor said the university which began academic programmes on December 17, 2009, was gradually “achieving the vision of its founding fathers to be classified among one of the finest universities in the world.”
Na’Allah said all it programmes had been accredited with the latest being that of faculty of Agriculture.
He said this year the engineering department is expected to be presented to go through the accreditation exercise.
“Everyday, we are moving closer to attaining the status of being classified as one of the finest institution in the world as this is the only University in Nigeria offering aeronautics and astronautics.”
