Kwara won’t miss Zamfara national Quranic competition – AbdulRazaq 

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara state has allayed fears of parents and members of state’s contingents to this year’s National Quaran Recitation Competition billed for Guzau ,Zamfara state that he will ensure their safe airlift to and fro the competition. 

The governor said the state  had not missed out in the national events since 1986 and assured that he will ensure the state sustains the unbroken chain this year.

The governor gave the assurance while speaking at the closing ceremony of the competition held at the state stadium complex, Ilorin, where the state’s contingents to the national events emerged.

Chairman of the committee, Alhaji Sheu AbdulGafar, told the governor that parents of the contingents have expressed reservations and concerns about the safety of their children and wards should they travel by road in view of the prevailing security challenges in the country.

“You need not to worry. Since 1986, Kwara has not missed this event. There is no need to worry. Last year, we had to support you to fly the participants and  this year too, we know it is going to be so. 

“It is not about winning, it is about taking part and that is the most important thing to all of you taking part. I congratulate you all,” AbdulRasaq said.

AbdulGafar had earlier prayed for the governor for being punctual at the event even as he said he was the first seating governor to physically attend the quran recitation competition in the state.
