La’ah gives pass mark on Nigeria’s democracy

Senator representing Kaduna South, Danjuma La’ah Tella, has given pass mark on the performance of the Nigerian political space, against the background of the country’s socio-economic and political challenges.

Th e senator, who stated this in a goodwill message to mark the country’s fi fty seventh independence anniversary, however, said the feat was not without challenges.

Th e lawmaker particularly identifi ed political stability in the country under democratic principles as an outstanding achievement attained within the period under review.

He said even with military intervention in governance intermittently within the years through coups, the country has remained relatively stable under democracy arrangement, especially from 1999 to date.

La’ah said the political achievement has in turn, translated into steady socio – economic growth as legitimate activities, particularly business continued to thrive.
