Lafia agric college matriculates 800

The College of Agriculture, Lafia, Thursday matriculated 800 students into various courses for the 2018/2019 academic session.

Speaking during the matriculation in Lafia, acting Provost of the College,   Musa Maikeffi, said the institution will not tolerate examination misconduct.

The provost, who was represented by Chief Liberian of the school, Isaac Umaru, also said the institution do not tolerate other social vices such as indecent dressing, cultism, drug abuse among others.

“Any student cut indulging in any of the vices would be disciplined by the management in line with the laws of the college” he added.

Maikeffi noted that the management would continue to provide efficient leadership and necessary environment for learning and research to thrive.

“We would work round the clock to ensure that we produce skillful graduates that would contribute to ensuring food security in the country.

“We would inculcate them with practical knowledge to enable them set up big farms thereby employing others to work for them.

“We do not want to produce graduates that would be liability in the economy of the country instead of being assets,” the Provost added.

He commended Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa state for constructing network of roads and other infrastructures at the college.

Some of the new students, who spoke with Esther Emmanuel and Hassan Abdullahi, promised to be law abiding to justify their parents’ investment.
