Lafia APC stakeholders pledge support for Al-Makura

Stakeholders in Lafia local government area of Nasarawa state Saturday, reiterated their support for Senator Umaru Al-Makura (APC, Nasarawa South Senatorial Zone).

The stakeholders made this known in a communique made available to newsmen in Lafia, the state capital after an extraordinary meeting of All Progressives Congress (APC) critical stakeholders from Lafia local government area. 

Prof. Mohammed Yaro Zakari, one of the APC stakeholders in Lafia who read out the communique said they decided to reiterate their support for the senator who represents their senatorial zone because of his developmental strides and his support for his constituents even during the harsh Coronavirus pandemic period.  

He said the senator had so far shown deep loyalty, commitment to the party and promoted party loyalty hence the continuous support for him. 

He said the meeting also resolved support for President Muhammadu Buhari and the state governor, Abdullahi Sule.

They enjoined all and sundry to key into the good programmes of the president and governor Sule.

“The meeting called on all appointees within the local government area to keep to the trust reposed on them and be good ambassadors of the state,” he said.

He added the stakeholders has also agreed to sustain the meeting to enhance unity,  understanding and cooperation in the area. 

“The meeting also agreed to support the state government under the leadership of governor Abdullahi Sule in his effort to develop Lafia local government area and Nasarawa state at large,” he said.

Speaking earlier, Senator Al-Makura, asked the stakeholders to see the meeting as a renewed response to the needs of the people.

He also called on them to be open and honest in their discussions to chat a new dimensions towards carrying the people along.

He stressed the need for leaders whether elected or appointed to continue to work towards unity and peaceful coexistence among diverse groups in their community to pave way for government to initiate programmes that would enhance  the standard of living of the people.

Almakura however, appreciated the stakeholders for attending the meeting and urged them to continue to be good ambassadors of the party and show empathy for the poor in the local government area.
