Lagos, Kano, Ogun, others get new CPs

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the posting/redeployment of the Commissioners of Police (CPs) in charge of Lagos, Kano, Ogun states among others.

The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Frank Mba, disclosed this in a press statement late Thursday night in Abuja.

According to the statement, CP Odumosu H. Olusegun, was deployed as acting CP Lagos state;  CP Habu Sani Ahmadu was deployed to Kano state; while CP Imohimi D. Edgal was deployed to Ogun state.

Others are CP Nkereuwem A. Akpan, who was deployed to Cross Rivers state; CP Kenneth Ebrimson was deployed to Akwa Ibom state; CP Lawal Jimeta was deployed to Edo state; while CP Philip Sule Maku was deployed to Bauchi state.

“The IGP charges the newly posted officers to ensure the consolidation and improvement on the gains of their predecessors in the areas of public safety and crime fighting.

“He also directs the new CPs to work with relevant stakeholders in adopting aggressive, proactive and community based crime prevention strategies to combat crime in their areas of responsibility.

“In addition, the IGP enjoins the citizens of the affected states to accord the CPs maximum cooperation to ensure they succeed in the realization of their mandate,” the statement said.
