Lalong gives scholarship to late Plateau lawmaker’s children

Governor Simon Lalong Tuesday gave the children of the late re-elected member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Ezekiel Bauda Affon full government scholarship.

The Governor made the disclosure when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.

The Governor in a statement by the Commissioner of Information and Communication, Yakubu Dati, said Lalong described the death of Hon. Affon, as shocking.

“The passing away of Hon Affon is shocking, but we know God knows best. Plateau state Government and indeed his colleagues at the State House of Assembly will surely miss his wise counsel and rich contributions,” Lalong said.

While commiserating with the family, Lalong said; “the Government will give scholarships to the children.”

He further commiserated with the immediate family and entire constituents of Pengana Constituency, of Bassa local government area.

Blueprint reported that Affon, the chief whip of the Assembly died last Saturday shortly after he was reelected.
