Lalong to reconstituted boards: Your job is part-time

Chairmen and members of reconstituted Plateau state boards and parastatals have been told to stay away from partisan, executive functions as their job is part time.
Governor Simon Lalong stated this yesterday while inaugurating boards and members of the state Muslim and Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards and other parastatals under the supervisions of the state Deputy Governor
and Secretary to the Government of the State.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Rufus Bature, Lalong said the board chairmen and members were carefully selected and on part time basis, noting that members only have business during board meetings.
According to Lalong, the decision to specify the duties of the members was to “avoid the mistakes of the past where members would go to sit in the
boards”.
He tasked the executive secretaries, chairmen and members of the pilgrims’ boards to work towards successful conduct of the religious obligations.
He said the people expected good performance and selfless service, driven by transparency and accountability.
