Lalong’s victory against elitist’s gang-up – Jigawa gov

The Jigawa state governor, Muhammad Abubakar Badaru, has described the victory of Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state in the supplementary election held on March 23 as the defeat of “elite gang-ups”.

He said Lalong won the governorship re-run because of his high performance and his love for the electorate who he said decided to reward him with a second term.

Governor Badaru, made the statement at the Lalong campaign office, shortly after Lalong was declared winner of the gubernatorial re-run election as Governor-elect.

“It is the tradition of the APC in every election to assign some governors to go to states, so that they can support the governorship candidate in the state undergoing election,” he said.

According to Badaru, he felt so happy when the APC sent him to Plateau state, adding that he knew that the job will be easy, “because I know that the election was won already.”

He described Lalong, as most respected member of the Progressives Governors Forum, saying that the governor is so humble, simple, kind and detribalised.

“He put the People of Plateau state before himself. So we know that whatever gang-up, they have on him, he will always triumph,” Badaru said.

He thanked the people of Plateau state for confirming the victory on Lalong to continue with his good policies of moving the state forward, urging the people to accord him maximum support and cooperation.
