Lamido on road to Presidency in 2019 – Secondus

National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has said that he was fully convinced that the immediate past governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, “is on the road to presidency in 2019 as he possesses what it takes to be a president.”
Addressing a rally of party supporters in Dutse, Secondus said the former governor had proven his mettle as a politician worth his salt given his decades of struggle i partisan politics dating back to the eventful days of the defunct Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) under the leadership of the late Malam Aminu Kano, adding that he had never wavered on what he stood to achieve.
“PDP being a strong bastion of opposition at present is waxing stronger against all odds; with the party’s resolve to clinch power in 2019 its victory in Jigawa state is almost a fait accompli.
“What is needed most at present, is a person of credible stature, resilience, focus and absolute doggedness like Alhaji Sule Lamido who never got ruffled or coerced into pressure in the face of gruelling challenge,” he said.
Secondus said the mammoth crowd of party supporters that attended the rally had clearly demonstrated the party’s resolve to wrest power from the ruling APC in the state, adding that “no party at present can pull such a crowd like the PDP.”
He, however, stated that the party had out of careful and meticulous calculation designed a workable blueprint that would serve as a guide to its ultimate direction and focus in 2019, stressing that with the former governor belonging to its fold, “the state is set for the party to sweep all the 36 states in 2019.”
He further revealed that the tumultuous reception accorded him during the visit had greatly gingered his confidence in leading the party to the higher rung of the ladder, stressing, however, that with sincerity of purpose, courage and resoluteness, achieving the goal would never be a far cry.
