Lamido wants equitable distribution of resources amongst states

Jigawa state Governor, Sule Lamido, has urged members of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to be more active in discharging its responsibilities of sharing the nation’s resources equitably amongst states.

Addressing members of the Commission, who paid him a courtesy visit yesterday in Dutse, he expressed displeasure over what he described as the “attitude of federal government which always keeps some part of money meant for all Nigerians as excess instead of sharing everything for the benefit of the whole country.”
Lamido has also lamented the creation of “some outfits such as the SURE-P which is not necessary after all; such outfits are just a duplication of other federal agencies.”

He regretted that there were some ministers that were much stronger than the Presidency itself, saying that that “is why government businesses and programmes are not being executed well, according to the rule of law.”
Responding, the leader of the team, Alhaji Adamu Muhammed Wizirin Gumel, commended Lamido for utilising the scarce resources for the interest of the state.

According to him, Commission is in dire need of assistance from the state government to provide accommodation and transportation for the staff of the Commission in the state.
