The Federation of the Youths Soccer Club (FEYSOC) National Headquarters has  concluded  preparation for the commencement of the 2nd edition of His Royal Highness (HRH) Umaru Bago III Etsu Lapai of the Under-21 football competition to be held in Lapai, Niger state between  November 21-30, 2020.

The tournament, which has 12 teams as participants, would cost N7,000,000 (seven million naira),  with the emir supporting  with 50% of the sum.

Coordinator FEYSOC Lapai/Chairman Local Organising Committee  Lapai Batako  announced this to journalists in Abuja Thursday.

“The Federation of the Youths Soccer Clubs (FEYSOC) is organising the 2nd edition of HRH the emir of Lapai on the 21st of November, 2020 and teams from the North Central states have been invited to compete for honour at the event. Lapai is the host local government of the tournament will take place and the local organising committee is already set.

“There would be free accommodations for all participating teams that have indicated interest with the support of HRH and we have began collaboration with security agencies to support in the provision of security of the participating youngsters,” he said.

As an association, Batako said,  “FEYSOC hunts for talented youths around the Nigerian  communities but presently focusing on the North Central. Originally, FEYSOC engages in talents hunt and that is the essence of organising such competition. If discovered, we integrate them to premiere leagues and also some European Pen Clubs.

“In the last edition, the first, second and third best teams were given a slot to Togo for a training tour but this time around, we are proposing to go to Ghana or Benin Republic because of the cost implication which the federation will be part responsibility of.

“Nigeria as a nation needs the youths to establish it and if the youths in question aren’t properly engaged, it becomes a problem to the community and so we use such event to reduce social havocs having their thoughts and minds pushed away from crimes.

“Secondly, FEYSOC is an affiliate of Nigeria Football Association and we are primarily established for the purpose of discovering talents. Most of the people you see at the National team or premiere leagues are the product of FEYSOC, so the only benefit we derive is the projection of the images of youths sporting program and that is our pride and primary objectives,” Batako added.
