LASU VC vows to deal with campus cultists

The vice chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun has vowed to deal with cult members in the institution’s campuses, saying any student or lecturer caught involving in cultism will be expelled from the university.
Prof. Fagbohun while speaking during a sensitisation tour against cultism, which took him to all the faculties in the university’s Ojo campus, said there would be no hiding place for cultists in the university.
The VC said that intelligence reports reaching the university management suggested that cult members were beginning to regroup around the campus.
Because of the report, the VC said the university was taking a bold step to nip the act in the bud with the support of all its faculties.
“We have seen that cultist groups want to start again, and we in LASU say no to cultism.
If we catch you in the act, you are gone.
If you hear that we have expelled students for cultism, you must defend us anywhere as a member of the institution and any lecturer caught in the act will not be spared,” he said.
Moreover, Fagbohun said LASU had succeeded in addressing cultism problems but recent intelligence reports revealed that cultists are regrouping in the university.
The VC, therefore, urged the university workers and academic staff to join hand with him to ‘’to fight this menace.”
