Late Alhassan kept to promise till death – Gov. Ishaku



Taraba state governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku, on Monday said the late former Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Senator Aisha Jumai Alhassan kept her promise till death.

Ishaku, who stated this in Jalingo when he received a high-powered delegation of the Adamawa state government which came to condole him over the  death of the late politician said after the  election in 2019, Aisha came and told him that she was ready to work with him in the interest of the people of Taraba state and that she remained committed to that promise until her death.

He described her as a wonderful woman and honest person.

“If she said she was supporting you, she will do so wholeheartedly” Ishaku said.

The delegation was led by the Adamawa State Commissioner for Works, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar.

A letter of condolence from the Governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Fintiri was also presented to Governor Ishaku at the ceremony by leader of the delegation.

Speaking during the visit, Alhaji Adamu described the death of Hajiya Aisha as the loss of an icon.

He said Taraba had lost an icon, a mother in a million, one who was very kind and generous and prayed God to give Ishaku and the entire people of Taraba state the fortitude to bear the loss.

Governor Ishaku thanked his Adamawa state counterpart, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, for the visit of the delegation and promised that he would work with him to promote and nurture the healthy relationship that currently exists between the two states.

The remains of late Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan was Monday evening committed to mother earth in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital.

The interment which was done according to the Islamic rites witnessed mammoth crowd who came to pay their last respect to her.
