Late Bola Ige’s son, Muyiwa, denies invitation by Osun Assembly

The son of Late Chief ‘Bola Ige who was the immediate past Commissioner for Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development. Arc. ‘Muyiwa Ige, has described the purported warrant of arrest by the State House of Assembly against him as shocking, noting that he was never invited by the House.
Ige stated that he was in Osogbo on Tuesday till 7pm before joining his family in Ibadan and that no letter or information about the said invitation got to him in person or through his phone or Osogbo contact address until Wednesday evening when he started receiving various calls!
“This is bizarre, it is shocking, I’m short of words. Is this happening truly? Nobody invited me, I supervised a government project till 7pm yesterday (Tuesday) before travelling back to Ibadan to join my family. Nobody invited me, nobody called me. How much would it have cost me to get down to Osogbo. This is really strange” he lamented.
Speaking in the same vein, the coordinator of Bola Ige Initiative Forum (BIIF) who is also the Media Aide to Arc. ‘Muyiwa Ige, ‘Lekan Odediran, urged the House to investigate the channels which the said invitation was sent to Arc. Ige so as to clear his name of wrongdoings.
The group further noted that “Arole” as fondly called has been receiving calls from around the world due to the alleged warrant of arrest adding that the principle of natural justice or fair hearing demands that no one should be condemned unheard and that the rule is as old as human creation.
“Arc. Ige is a stakeholder who is still working hard under the able leadership of Ogbeni Aregbesola to bring development to the state and a law abiding citizen who epitomises modesty, humility, transparency and loyalty. It is also on record that he has obviously demystifed wealth, legacy, positions that usually make political office holders or silver spoon loose their heads.
The group also informed that the shocking news has caused serious damage to the reputation carefully built by the heir of late Chief Bola Ige dynasty.

Osun State House of Assembly had on Wednesday issued a warrant of arrest on him over his failure to appear before the committee of the house as summoned.

He was alleged to have been privy to how a portion of land along Ilobu-Osogbo road was illegally allocated.

The warrant was said to have been signed by the leader of the house, Hon. Timothy Owoeye. Though, it was not ascertained wether Muyiwa was served except the radio announcement by the state medium.
