LAUTECH expels ex-Osun SSG’s son, 3 others

The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has expelled four of its students while placing eight others on suspension following their involvement in the post-students’ union election violence that took place on June 13.
According to an official statement signed by the Registrar of the institution, Jacob Agboola and sent to students’ emails yesterday, the university’s Senate at an emergency meeting held Tuesday considered the report and recommendations of the panel set up to investigate the matter and the Senate approved that those found wanting be suspended or expelled from the university.
The suspended students are: Olalekan Ismail who is a student of department of Computer Science and Engineering; Amoo Akeem of the department of Transport Management; Azeez Ayobami, department of Biochemistry; Oluwole Opeyemi, department of Pure and Applied Chemistry; and Bankole Oluwaseyi, department of Pure and AppliedPhysics.
Others include: Abioye Aderemi, department of Anatomy; Atoyebi Adeniran, Pure and Applied Mathematics, and Adewale Sulaiman, department of Anatomy.
The expelled students includes Adeoti AbdulAfeez, son of the former Secretary to the State Government of Osun, Moshood Adeoti, department of Civil Engineering; Akinloye Oluwatimileyin, department of Pure and Applied Physics; Eze Raymond, department of Management and Accounting; and Dauda Sodiq, department of Chemical Engineering.
Premium Times in June reported how AbdulAfeez Adeoti was accused by students and staff of spearheading violent attacks on various targets at the university.
