A member representing Buji/Birninkudu federal constituency of Jigawa state, Hon Magaji Da’u Aliyu, has donated food items and other relief materials worth N19 million to the victims of flood in his constituency.
Speaking at the occasion that took place in Birninkudu, Thursday, Hon Aliyu urged the victims to accept the disaster as an act of God.
He also observed that as a member representing the area , it is binding on him and any other wealth-to-do individual in the society to complement government’s effort in assisting the victims.
The member presented the food items and the relief materials to nine District Heads in his constituency for onward distribution to the victims in their respective villages.
The materials included 800 bags of 120kg maize, cocking oil, rice, roofing sheets, nails among others.
He prayed Almighty Allah to grant the 130 people that lost their lives in the flood the eternal rest and prevent the reoccurrence of such incident in the future.
