Senator Suleiman Adokwe, who represents Nasarawa South Senatorial District, has presented a cash donation of N1million to an Orphanage Home and empowered 50 widows to mark his 60th birthday.

Presenting the cash at Gidan Bege Orphanage Home at Millionnaires’ Quarters, Lafia,  Adokwe said he decided to celebrate his birthday with the less privileged to show his gratitude to the Almighty God for keeping him alive.

The senator, who also secured and presented 200 admission for students of his constituency, said the gesture was in recognition of the fact that widows and orphans needed help more than anyone else in the society.
Adokwe said he grew up as an orphan as he lost his father at the age of eight and that his mother brought them up with his four brothers and a sister selling akamu and yam.

He urged government and wealthy individuals to assist the less privilege in the society.
Other items presented to mark the birthday included 300 grinding machines, 350 pumping machines, 600 JAMB forms, 150 motorcycles and 50 tricycles.
