Leicester boss berated for not starting Iheanacho against Man City

Iheanacho Should Have Started Against Man City – Phil Neville tells Leicester Coach February 10, 201807.
Coach of Leicester City Claude Puel should have started Kelechi Iheanacho against his former club Manchester City in the 1-5 thrashing they suffered at the Etihad according to former Manchester United defender Phil Neville.
Four goals from Sergio Kun Aguero and Raheem Sterling who opened scoring for the Premier League leaders helped them cruise to a heavy win despite Jamie Vardy drawing Leicester level after they went behind.
Puel started Fousseni Diabate in attack alongside Vardy with Iheanacho who bagged an assist in their last game dropping to the bench. A move which Neville criticised during his post match analysis of the game.
Iheanacho was introduced in the 62nd minutes for Ben Chilwell but Neville believed if he had started he could have caused City some problems at the back, due to his knowledge of his former teammates.
The Nigerian joined Leicester City from the Etihad outfit in the summer for a transfer fee of over £25m has struggled to pin a spot in the starting line up, but he has shown good form of late which Neville believed would have come handy against City.
“I honestly think Iheanacho should have started at his old ground. His form has not been bad off late and playing at his old ground against his former teammates could give him the lift he needs to recapture his best form’, Neville said during his analysis of the game on television.
“Iheanacho knows the defenders he is up against and they also know him. So that will no doubt make them approach him with almost same respect like he would approach them”.
