LETI to train South-west youths

The leadership of the South-west zone of the National Youth Council of Nigeria-NYCN has bestowed the Award of the Role Model of Excellence on the Director-General of the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute, (LETI) Prince Ifalade Oyekan.

According to a statement by the Zonal Headquarters, Monday in a brief ceremony held at Ifalade’s office, the Vice President of the South-West zone, Comrade Tomi Amosu described Ifalade as a worthy Ambassador of the Lagos Royalty and an enviable Role model for young people.

Comrade Amosu said “He has represented and is still representing the Royal family with elegant achievements”.

The the Public Relations Officer of the NYCN, Comrade Damola Olugbode in his goodwill message mentioned that the leadership of the zone has watched Oyekan with keen interest since his appointment as the Head of LETI and found him worthy of appreciation in the bid to get him to do more.

The PRO, Comrade Damola Olugbode in his words said, “we do not doubt that we have come to honour an honourable man who deserves all the honour. Our coming to say thank you is as a means of getting you to do more.”

The Vice Chairman of the NYCN for Lagos East, Comr. Abdulfatai Ajibola Are, who read the citation said, the citation of the Prince is a testimony that he started his career at one of the best Institutions in the Country having attended many great academic Institutions which prepared him for his roles as a leader.

In his response, Prince Ifalade Oyekan thanked the delegation and the Youths of Nigeria for seeing him worthy of such an honour.

Prince Ifalade said he understands the responsibility of being the Role Model to younger people and promise to do all in his capacity not to disappoint. “I am not unaware that you have come to tell me to do more and I hope to do more. “

Oyekan while dedicating the Award to the Governor of Lagos State,  Babajide Sanwo-Olu and members of his Staff said, ” I am spurred by the commitment of these people and the mandate of the Governor of Lagos State and everything we have done has been towards integrating the THEMES Agenda of Mr Governor towards ensuring it is well rooted in the enforcement of Law and Order.

Prince Ifalade also approved the request of the delegation for a special training programme on the Role of Law and Order in ensuring development for Southwest Youths.

Prince Ifalade Oyekan concluded by admonishing the leadership of the Council to strive to ensure they establish legacies by representing the Youths very well. He concluded, “don’t chase money with the position bestowed in your trust, instead work to establish legacies and money will come chasing you. That has been our guiding principle here at LETI.
