LG boss tasks Abdulrazaq over Kaiama kidnappings, urges residents’ support

In the wake of renewed kidnapping and criminal activities in Kaiama LGA of Kwara state, the council boss, Alhaji Sulaiman Yusuf Gado, has called on Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq for more support.

Hon Gado also charged residents to be vigilant and report strange faces and suspicious movements of people to security agencies for quick action.

Yusuf Gado who is the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) chairman of Kaiama, made the call while addressing residents, who expressed concerns over the security of the area as a result of incessant kidnapping and related criminal activities.

According to the council boss, “The Council and my humble self wish to express our profound appreciation to the state governor, His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for his timely assistance each time we call for intervention.

“We equally use this opportunity to make very passionate appeal to the state government that we still need reinforcement of security agents to complement efforts of our vigilantes to be able to effectively combat the menace of the dare-devil criminal elements and other security challenges being encountered by our people.”

Hon. Gado also called on the federal government and the management of the National Park at Kainji in Niger state to collaborate with the council and Kwara state government’s efforts in terms of surveillance to deploy adequate manpower to safeguard the forest so as to enhance free flow of vehicular and human movement at all times.

The council boss suggested that there was a need to deploy technology for effective surveillance and intelligence gathering on activities of kidnappers and other criminal elements in the area.

While reassuring the people of the area of government’s efforts at ensuring their safety, Hon. Gado urged them to go about their lawful businesses.
