LG poll: NASIEC deploys 8,000 personnel

 

Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) has mobilised over 8,000 personnel that will participate in today’s local government elections across the 13 local government areas in the state.

Chairman of the commission Hon. Henry John Omaku, who disclosed this yesterday in Lafia, explained that over 5,000 security personnel had been engaged to ensure law and order during and after the election.

Omaku, who also promised free, fair, credible and acceptable local government elections to people of the state, said that the commission, in addition, had engaged the services of over 3,000 ad-hoc staff to serves as polling clerks, presiding and returning officers as well as supervisors, while 200 statutory staff of the commission were also deployed for the election.

He, therefore, appealed to everyone in the state, particularly the youths, to be law abiding and of good conduct.
