Ahead of proposed council election in Kogi state, the leadership of the seven clans of Okovi descendants have endorsed Abdulrazaq Muhammad as the chairmanship candidate of Okene local government area.
The clan made the endorsement when they paid a courtesy call on the local government administrator, Muhammed on Wednesday in Okene.
In a letter of endorsement signed by the leader of the forum and chairman of Asuwe clan, Mallam Yahaya Amaja which was presented to the council administrator, the forum maintained that, their desire to throw support to the chairmanship ambition of Muhammed were borne out of his efforts to transform the council to a more habitable environment for the citizenry.
“He has consistently pilot the affairs of the council and maintained security of lives and property, making Okene one of the safest local government area in Kogi state.
“His style of leadership is commendable. He deserves to be elected back to office as executive chairman,” he said.
He assured the council administrator that the entire Okovi sons and daughters have resolved to rally round him and ensure his ambition becomes a reality.
“The good records of Muhammed speaks volume, he is a result oriented politician, humble and intelligent, hence, we have come to identify with the man of the moment.
“The entire Okovi clans hereby endorse your candidature as the next elected Chairman of Okene local government in the forth coming council election,” he stated.
