The Edo state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has flagged of the construction of the state education hub with state-of-the-art facilities.
Obaseki, who performed the ceremony in Benin City on Friday, disclosed that the hub would include “a number of buildings in its premises, such as library board, State Universal Education Board, Secondary School Education Board, primary and secondary school.”
Others, according to him, are the board of quality assurance and conference center to accommodate 500 people at a sitting and cafe.
“The other building will be a library board. For those of them that have been criticising, by May this year, we will open the branch of library at Edo mall.
“But you can’t open a branch if you don’t have a head office. And from what we are doing today, we are rebuilding our library system with a minimum of 50 million titles.
“We are rebuilding our library system into a digital system spread across the entire state. And any child in any part of the state would be able to log in and read books for their use,” he said.
