Like father, Ronaldo’s son becomes Manchester United player

Cristiano Jr. will follow in the footsteps of his father Cristiano Ronaldo and wear the iconic No7 shirt for Manchester United.

The 11-year-old officially signed after spending months playing in the United academy.

The announcement came through fellow youngster Gabriel, who announced he had also signed on his Instagram.

He said: “Delighted to finally have my signing day done even better to have mine with team-mates @cristiano JR.”

Gabriel is already signed by Nike and has a large Instagram following for his age.

Whereas Cristiano Jr is yet to open a social media account.

Ronaldo’s pregnant girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez also shared snaps of the family taking in Cristiano Jr’s proud moment.

Rodriguez, who is close to Ronaldo’s son, said on Instagram: “Pursuing our dreams together. Mom loves you.”

Cristiano Jr isn’t the only son of United legends who are trying to make it in professional football.

Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Robin van Persie, Nemanja Matic and Robbie Savage all have kids who are signed to teams.

Beckham’s son Romeo, 19, plays for his MLS team Inter Miami and even made his debut for the reserves team.
