LMC rates NPFL Africa’s best as coaches gather for La Liga training

About 50 coaches are currently undergoing a refresher course put together by the League Management Company (LMC) and La Liga barely one year after similar seminar took place in Abuja.
The coaching exercise which is part of ongoing collaboration between Spanish league outfit and that of Nigeria was initiated after both league bodies entered into several exchange programmes.
While declaring the event open yesterday, Chief Operating Officer of LMC, Mallam Saliu Abubakar described the training as landmark project aimed at equipment both elite and grassroots coaches in Nigeria.
In 2017, all Nigeria Professional Football League coaches gathered for similar arrangement.
According to LMC COO, “Today mark beginning of another interesting day in our partnership with La liga. When we started this partnership about two years ago, we went to Spain and said to them that, look Laliga is among the best in the world, we too want to be among the best. We are already the best in Africa but we want to be the best in the world.
“One of the interesting things we saw on Spain was the best tournament and immediately we cut up with it, and said we are going to introduce it in Nigeria. In fact, We are even thinking of bringing another level of youth football. This is the future of Nigeria football and you coaches hold the future of Nigeria football, because you are saddled with responsibility of Coaching igeria’s tomorrow champions.
On his part, Leader of La-liga group, Javier Del Rio said; “We at La-Liga are really happy to be here. There is huge potential, there is huge talent. We have been seen some results and we are proud of this programme. With the second edition here, we shall see a lot many improvements at the end of the program.”
