Lobi re-jig staff as clubs rush to beat deadline

Premier League side, Lobi Stars, have made fresh appointments ahead of the new season which will kick off across the country this weekend even as clubs rush to beat registration deadline as stipulated by the League Management Company (LMC).

A visit by our correspondent to the LMC secretariat in high brow Wuse 2 revealed that the LMC were battling to cope with the demand of the clubs in issuing licences for players to participate in the league.

An official of Warri Wolves who preferred not to be named disclosed to Blueprint Sport that the club was in the process of submitting a formal letter to the LMC that they would not honour their encounter with the El-Kanemi FC of Maiduguri because of the renewed insurgency in the North-east axis.

Meanwhile, Lobi Stars’ supremo, Dominic Iorfa, has announced the redeployment of key personnel in the club’s backroom staff.
“The changes were made to re-position the club for better productivity and we expect the officials to boost their performance when the league begins,” Iorfa said to supersport.com.

Former Nigerian international, Barnabas Imenger, who served as assistant coach under Iorfa and Ogenyi, has been named team manager, while the former team manager, Ganiyu Adeleke, becomes national coordinator.
With the redeployment of Imenger, Ernest Jupiter will work as assistant to Ogenyi.

The duo of Odey Ogar and Terlumun Imadu retain their positions in Ogenyi’s backroom staff
Former Nigerian international and Caf Champions League winner with ASEC Mimosas, John Zaki, remains head coach of the club’s development side, Lobi Juniors, which campaign in the first division of the Nigeria Nationwide League (Amateur League).
