Lockdown enforcement: Vigilante to team up with Police in Gwagwalada

The commander of Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) in Gwagwalada area council, Alhaji Abdulmalik Danu Alkali, has said that  members of the group would continue to complement the police throughout the period of lockdown in the council.

Speaking to Blueprint in his office Thursday, Alkali noted that vigilantes have been posted to designated areas to ensure members of the public are responding to the federal government directives on the COVID-19 pandemic.

He called on the chairman of the council, Mustapha Adamu,  to provide logistics support to the group to enable them perform their function efficiently, adding that the group has been making efforts to boost its membership to two thousand in Gwagwalada and environs.

The commander appealed to members of the group to be law abiding citizens at all times and avoid doing unethical things with a view to contributing their quota in the area of protection of  lives and property.

Alkali noted he would continue to motivate other vigilante factions in Dobi and other areas to be working under one umbrella in order to achieve their aims and objectives.
