We’re loyal to authorities, Shi’ite faction tells Nigerians

Members of Rasulul A’azam Foundation, a splinter faction of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, popularly known as Shia, have pledged their loyalty to constituted authorities under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking to newsmen at this year’s annual celebration of the birthday of Imam El-Mahadi, held at Rasulul A’azam Mosque in Dawanau town of DawakinTofa local government area of Kano, yesterday, the SecretaryGeneral of the Foundation, Shiekh Sale Muhammad Sani Zaria, stated that their members had no reason to disrespect constituted authorities.
According to him, members of the Foundation were under no obligation to flout the laws of the land with impunity and never aligned to Shiekh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky’s faction, affirming that they were ever ready to participate in future elections like any other citizen of the country, for credible leaders to be voted to respective positions of authorities.
He pointed out that it is the responsibility of every citizen to vote for a credible candidate of his choice devoid of playing into the hands of a duplicitous political office seekers, whose preoccupation was to milk the treasury of the nation dry, positing that apportioning blame on bad leaders would be counterproductive if the electorate make a wrong choice.
He said members of the group would be committed to ensuring a peaceful, economically viable, independent, sovereign and united Nigeria, calling on Muslims in particular and Nigerians in general to desist from any action capable of causing tribal or religious divisions.
