The Chairman of Labour Party (LP) Abia state chapter, Pastor Ceekay Igara has expressed the hope that given the influx of members of other parties to LP, the party would take over governance of the state come 2023.
He added that God has prepared a David of our time in the person of a renowned financial expert, Dr Alex Otti, the governorship candidate of the party that would actualise the lofty dream.
Igara said this Wednesday in an interview with newsmen at the party’s secretariat in Umuahia.
He noted that the exodus of PDP members into Labour Party in Abia state was due to continuous bad governance by the ruling party in the state.
According to the clergyman turned politician,God had told him that Dr Okezie Ikpeazu would be the last governor that would govern the state while LP would take over, stating that the popularity the party is presently enjoying is because people were now tired of PDP led government in the state.
He, however, expressed delight that since Mr Peter Obi joined the party and became the presidential flag bearer and Dr Alex Otti also emerged as the gubernatorial candidate, Abians have been joining the party in their thousands.
