LP Reps candidate visits fire victims in Gwagwalada market

The Labour party (LP) candidate for House of Reps Abuja South, in the Federal Capital Territory, Hon Joy Ohiomero, has called on FCT administration and market developers to make fire service point mandatory and provide security gadgets in all markets in FCT.

The LP House of representatives candidate made the statement while speaking with newsmen during her visit to Gwagwalada main market where some shops were burnt down by fire.

Hon. Joy Ohiomero further advised residents to always be their brothers keeper in time of distress, and especially, during this perilous times.

She promised to cushion the effects of the losses incurred by the market traders during the fire incident.

On politics, she called on politicians especially LP members to unite so as to bring about development and security in the country.

Responding, the Chairman of Gwagwalada Main Market Traders Association, Alhaji Murah Muhammad, expressed his appreciation for the timely visit and care by Ohiomero to Gwagwalada after the inferno.

Alhaji Murah Muhammad also commended the speedy response of the Fire Service to the market and pleaded with the FCT administration to provide fire service point in the market for emergency purposes.
