Lugbe residents berate MTN over ‘no network’ in 3 days

Residents of Lugbe axis of the Umar Musa Yar’Adua way (Airport Road) have decried what they described the “insensitivity” of one of the telecommunication companies in Nigeria, MTN, to their inability to receive or make calls.
The residents said they had been cut off the telecommunication lines for the past three days, as there was no network connection on their phones, “yet nothing has been done to address the situation by MTN.”

Our correspondent, however, gathered that the stop-to-network connection in the area was due to a felled mast around the Tipper Garage in the Federal Housing axis.
One of the residents, Thomas Obinna, who spoke to Blueprint, said “I don’t know what this MTN people are doing. We can’t make or receive calls; and this is the third day.”

Another respondent, Jumai Ibrahim, said: “MTN is the worst network I have ever seen, imagine having no network since Sunday, today is Tuesday and nobody is saying anything about it. No apology from any quarters and they expect us to be quiet. Our phones are recharged, yet we can’t make calls, we can’t reach out to our loved ones in the corner of our rooms except you go to the city center; it’s really bad.”
