Luno takes cryptocurrency education to Abuja

Luno has moved it’s cryptocurrency education train to the northern part of the country in a bid to deepen the knowledge of the People on the new technology.

Holding its meet-up at the Belanova Apartment and Suites, Maitama, Abuja, at the weekend, Luno country manager Owen Odia, said there was a high appetite for crypto but the adoption remained low.

She said a lot of people were scared and don’t know how to get into the business.

“We provide a platform for people to trade in Bitcoin and Ethereum, that’s crypto currency. Cryptocurrency is a new technology people have heard about cm and want to know what it is about.

“So, what we do is set up a workshop to teach people on strictly trading and what to know before trading. Bitcoin is a very volatile cryptocurrency because it fluctuates. So, we always advise people not to invest their life savings, just start small and if you see that you are comfortable, you can then move up.

“Luno, have been in existence since 2016. We launched formally in 2013 and we realized that there is a high appetite for it (cryptocurrency) however, the adoption is very low because alot of people are really scared, they don’t know how to get into the business.

“So what we do is focus on the customer education so we are going to be constantly holding meetups like this in every region in Nigeria. We did one in Lagos, that’s why we are doing one in the north- Abuja where people can actually come to learn about cryptocurrency and about Bitcoin in this case.

“Just register on Luno, fund your naira account with a thousand naira then you can buy Bitcoin and begin to taste the new technology everyone has been talking about.”

One of the participants, Abdullahi Salisu, who have recently started the Bitcoin trading said his experience has been nice with good profit.

According to him, “Like it’s said in the training, you need alot of education so you don’t fall victim,” he said.

Ten lucky winners emerged at the event as Luno gave out Bitcoin in fraction of 0.006 (equivalent to 10, 000 each) to winners.
