Zonal deputy chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBA), Nasarawa state chapter, Alhaji Usman Damau, has said that the association was collaborating with security agents and cattle dealers in the state to tackle the problem of cattle rustling and destruction of crops by herders across the state.
He stated this yesterday during a three day interactive session on peace and security matters with critical stakeholders in Keffi, Keffi local government of Nasarawa state.
He said that the association would continue to preach peace among Fulani herdsmen in tackling the issues of armed robbery and other vices inimical to the corporate existence of the association.
Damau also appealed to the leadership of the association to expose corrupt ones among them, just as he equally advocated for nomadic schools to ensure that Fulani herdsmen are fully educated to face the challenges of the future.
Responding, the state governor, Umaru Al-Makura, who was represented by the Special Adviser on Security Matters, Brig. Gen. Muhammad Ibn Umar Adeka (rtd) said the security situation in the state was adjudged peaceful.
He warned people in the state against any act capable of undermining the existing peace in the state and urged all communities and individuals to take the issue of security serious.
