MACBAN condemns media attack on Miyetti Allah leader

National Coordinator of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Barrister Haruna Garus Gololo, yesterday described the media propaganda by Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state on the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore as witch-hunting and hatred for Fulani race.

Gololo made this condemnation in Abuja, saying that the unnecessary calling for the arrest of leadership of that association was not the answer to the crisis in Benue, adding that the only solution was for the governor to call for dialogue with all stakeholders in the state.

According to Gololo, “this is the right time for dialogue in the state because everybody needs peace”, adding that those that are displace, including him, would want to go back to their various home as the raining season has come.

“Miyetti Allah is ready to join hands with Benue state government to dialogue and make peace return to the state. We the Fulani are peace loving people, it is the hand work of those who hate them that are causing crisis and they would tag us to be behind it.”

On the recent killings of two Reverend Father, Gololo condemned the actions by the gun men. He distanced Fulani from the killing, saying that they are peace loving people, who love to leave peacefully with their host communities.
