The Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, has said the death of Madaki Nupe, Alhaji Abdullahi B. Umar is a great loss to Nupe kingdom, Niger state and Nigeria in general.
The Etsu Nupe was reacting to the demise of the elder statesman shortly after the funeral prayer at Umar Ma’ajigi Juma’at Mosque in Bida, Thursday.
The royal father expressed shock about the news of the passing of Umar and described the deceased as very pious, philanthropic, patriotic and peace loving.
“The entire kingdom have lost a great peace promoter, a rear gem and a great leader who ensured peaceful co-existence among the diverse ethnic groups in the area
”Late Madaki Nupe was a peace maker, promoter, a bridge builder and he also contributed a lot to the development of not only the emirate but also the state and the country in general.
“The news of his death is shocking and very painful, but God gives life and takes at will,” Etsu Nupe averred.
Abubakar, however, condole with the immediate family of the late Umar, Bida Emirate Council and prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased Aljanna fidaus and the fortitude for his family to bear the loss.
