Magili needs at least two boarding schools – Zhe Migili

The paramount ruler of the Migili ethnic group in Nasarawa state, HRH Zhe Migili Dr Ayuba Agwadu Audu, has appealed to the government of Nasarawa state to establish at least two boarding  secondary schools in Migili to improve the educational development of his chiefdom.

He stated this in an interview with Blueprint Wednesday in Keffi.

The monarch stressed that education is the most powerful weapon that can be used in changing an individual and in transforming the society, and expressed satisfaction with the government’s response to stop the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

He sued for peace in his chiefdom, and called for the creation of more districts and chiefdoms in Migili. The existing schools would not be enough for the chiefdom, thus the need for more boarding schools.

The traditional ruler said he wasnot satisfied with the level of educational development in his chiefdom because of his belief that education is the most powerful weapon that can be used to change an individual and transform society.

He said he had been calling Migili people to his palace and encouraged them to acquire higher education.

“In fact, if we have a university that belongs to Migili people, I will be the happiest person on earth.

“So far an indigene has established a private college of education, but my appeal is that the government should at least give us one or two boarding secondary schools to enable us to meet up with other ethnic groups in terms of education,” he said.

The monarch said the state government was doing its best to fight the spread of coronavirus pandemic even though they had not recorded any case of Covid-19 pandemic death in his chiefdom.
