Mai Tangle buried amidst tears, eulogies

Mai Tangle, Dr Abdu Buba Maisheru, the Paramount Ruler of the Tangale Kingdom in Billiri of Gombe state has been laid to rest Saturday morning in Billiri amidst tears and eulogies from sympathisers.

  Late   Maisharu, the 15th Mai Tangle died on Sunday 10th January 2021 at Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe.

The funeral service was held at the palace before a mammoth crowd of sympathizers, clergies and dignitaries from within and outside Tangale land.

Speaking at the funeral service, the Gombe state Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Manasseh Daniel Jatau, described the late monarch who spent 19 years on the throne as a royal father whose life was worthy of emulation.

According to the Governor, the monarch’s legacies of promoting peaceful coexistence among his diverse subjects will be remembered and upheld.

The Governor said, “He was a distinguished traditional ruler who dedicated his royal duties towards building a united community both in his role as a key member of Gombe state Council of Emirs and Chiefs and as the Chairman of the Northern Christian Traditional rulers”.

Dr Abdu Buba Maisheru who holds a Higher Certificate in Catering Management from Kaduna Polytechnic 1978, was born in Poshiya, Billiri Local Government Area. He started his elementary education at primary school in 1962.

He served in both public and private sectors in various sectors and later ascended the royal stool of his grandfather as the 15th Mai of the Tangale kingdom on 24th May 2001.

The funeral service witnessed the presence of many traditional rulers from different parts of Nigeria as well as top Government officials and renown individuals from within and outside Nigeria.
